Upcoming Hockey Seasons.
Hello Ice Dog Family and Happy Spring,
We have a few exciting announcements coming from the board as well as the rink and rink ownership.
The board will be handing association operations over to the rink at the conclusion of our spring season and before Fall tryouts/registration. With that being said, I’d personally like to thank all board members and anyone who has helped the Ice Dogs become what we are, a giant hockey family. These people should be thanked endlessly as they did far more than most people are aware of. I am proud to have worked with everyone that served on the board and even happier to call them my friends.
The day to day operations of the program should look no different than what you know it as of now, other than a couple new faces. The new admin structure of the West Michigan Ice Dogs will be the following:
Cam Henke (Operations Manager), Scott Redman (Rink Representation) and myself as the Hockey Director.
Some of you may remember Cam. He served on the board in both the president and hockey director roles during his time with the association from 2013-2021. He is a great friend of mine and hopefully all of our members will also get to know him well.
Cam’s hockey background includes a successful playing career in the North American Hockey League and over 20 years coaching at the youth and high school level.
These changes are aimed at creating stability within the program and the rink. Rink management wants to dedicate more time and resources to our program to help us grow and improve upon what we can offer to our athletes and parents. They understand that a healthy youth program is beneficial to the community and rink and are excited to be involved in helping us become the premier hockey program on the lakeshore.
Thank you all for being a part of our hockey family,
Jordan
